n the air about another possible Malayalam remake in Tamil.

According to r

eports, plans are on to remake the Malayalam film 'One Way Ticket' that had Prithiviraj in the lead and Mammootty in a cameo as himself. The story was about Mammooty, a superstar in films, coming down to a village to save his ardent fan's love life.

A big banner that produces Tamil films is said to have bought the rights for this movie and is ready to remake the film with Vijay in the lead role. The reports also add that superstar Rajinikanth has been approached to play the cameo. Official confirmation is not out yet and it is not known if Rajinikanth will give the nod.

An interesting point to note is that Rajinikanth has been remaking quite a number of Malayalam hits. 'Muthu' was the remake of 'Thenmavin Kombathu' and 'Chandramukhi', the remake of the Malayalam classic 'Manichithra Thaazhu'.

With recent reports that have come in saying that 'Kuselan' has managed only a lukewarm opening, the decision and announcement about remaking 'One Way Ticket' might go under the scanner.

"Robot" Start On August 10

After his well appreciated role in Kuselan and Kuselan doing good at the box office Superstar Rajinikanth is back to what he does best, doing his work. Rajinikanth said that he will be leaving to US by August 10, to start shooting for Shankar’s Robot. The shooting for Shankar’s flick will kickstart in the US.
In the mean time he is busy in completing sequence song of Sultan - The Warrior an animation flick made by his daughter Soundarya.The shooting of Sultan – The Warrior is on at Hyderabad and would be wrapped up right on time for the actor to pack up to the US. The actor was spotted in Tirupathi on Sunday where he offered prayers for his Kuselan and his upcomming movies.
Interestingly, Ashwarya who is signed opposite to Rajinikanth in Robot is on the unforgettable world tour and is currently in the US. This might be convinient for director Shankar to shoot any scenes with Rajini and Ash in the US

Aishwarya Rai Going To USA For The Shooting Of "ROBOT"

Aishwarya Rai who is presently busy with her “Unforgettable Tour” has finally disclosed some facts on her next Tamil project ROBOT. Yesterday on phone she disclosed the facts that she was well in the cast of ROBOT and will cater her entire September month dates to Shanker’s dream project.

Rajinikanth who was in Tirupathi on Sunday also disclosed that the script for this film was well penned and in the august third week he will be going to USA for the shooting of ROBOT. In the month of September the crew will be back in India and Aish is said to be joining them.

Then again in the last week of September shanker along with Aish and Rajini will go to London city to shoot some important scenes.

Aish Has Completed The "ROBOT" Photo Session

Aishwarya Rai cleared the speculations that she may opt out of Shanker’s dream project ROBOT and finally did a photo session for the promotion of the film. Rajnikanth and Aish has completed the third and final photo session for the film which were held in Chennai and Mumbai recently.

It is disclosed by Shanker that almost all the stills done by Aish have been registered to be used in Promotions. But still the dilemma is with Rajini’s costumes and get up.

Still the sci- fi director is not able to zero up on a specific get up for the superstar and is also thinking to re shot some stills with some different get ups. Already it is a known fact that bollywood’s Manish Malhotra is the costume designer for this film.

Some sources reveal that Shanker may opt for botox treatment on Rajikanth to get the look of a young scientist.

Rajini’s Looks In Robot As His Role Of A Young Scientist

Rajinikanth and director Shankar have been very busy over the past few weeks with the groundwork for Robot set rolling. The duo have completed about three photo sessions thus far - one in Mumbai and two in Chennai. It seems that Shankar is quite satisfied with the outcome but the final decision on Rajini’s get-up in Robot is yet to be decided.

Meanwhile,Rajini and Shankar will fly down to Mumbai in a few days time for the fourth photo session. Interestingly, this photo shoot session will have Aishwarya Rai also participating in it. Sources say that Shankar is taking extra care about Rajini’s looks in Robot as his role happens to be that of a young scientist.

Rajini Plans To Fly Down To Japan

Rajini’s fans all over the world, especially those in Japan, have been eagerly awaiting the release of Kuselan. Ever since Muthu was released in Japan, Rajinikanth became a household name in that country. In fact, Muthu remained on the silver screens in Japan for about 23 weeks, which not a mean feat.

His fans from Japan, time and again,have come down to India to meet their favorite star. All his films have been screened in Japan including the latest Sivaji. With Kuselan due to hit the screens shortly, the Japanese fans are gearing up for its release. And to reciprocate the love showered upon him by his Japanese fans, Rajini plans to fly down to Japan to taste the success of Kuselan along with them.

"Kuselan" Release On 31 July

'Kuselan' is definitely going to rock with Rajinikanth' dashing looks and style as he plays a reel-life superstar.

Pyramid Saimira is going to release 'Kuselan' with a starting 1200 prints, on 31st July. The movie is being produced by K. Balachander's Kavithalaya. The movie trailer will be out in a few days amidst huge expectations.

P.Vasu is directing the movie. Rajinikanth paired with Nayantara plays the star role, while Pasupathy is co-starring Rajini for the first time. Meena and Mamtha Mohandas are appearing in prominent roles.

Rajinikanth Comes In The "Kuselan" For Few Minutes

Rajinikanth comes in the Kuselan for few minutes but the posters promote as if the whole movie is his. Why not even a few minutes of Rajinikanth is enough to poost the movie.

Rajinikanth says “There’s already a lot of hype about the movie. I’m very nervous with everyone expecting it to run to a silver jubilee,” he says.
The distributors have sold the movie as Rajinikanth’s movie for Rs 64 crore, for more than what the move Sivaji was sold for more than what the move Sivaji was sold for.

"Sultan - The Warrior" Released In April 2009

The much-awaited Rajinikanth starring animated movie 'Sultan -The Warrior' featuring Rajinikanth will hit movie screens in April 2009. April is considered to be an auspicious month for Rajinikanth for all his films released in April have gone on to become big hits.

After scouting in Vietnam for selecting the backdrops to shoot the movie, the film crew was back in Chennai recently. Rajinikanth is now expected to join the crew to commence work in a Motion Capture Animation Studio in Hyderabad to shoot for the movie. It would be later animated.

Motion Capture technology entails the artist to be fitted with infra red lights that can be tracked on the computer. All the actions performed by the actor would then be applied to the 3D model. Incredibly, the 3D model (designed just like Rajinikanth) would do exactly the same actions that the star performs in the studio. Movies like 'Titanic' used this technology with stuntmen in studios and later adapted on live action sequences (people washed away by water) to get the stunning scenes as real as possible.

'Sultan – The Warrior' has five songs set to tunes by A R Rahman and it would be released next february. The movie is being produced and directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth for her home production house Ocher Studios.

Rajinikanth And Kamal Haasan Will share Screen Presence After A Very Long Time

As reported earlier, Madras Archdiocese is producing a film on the life of St. Thomas, an apostle of Jesus Christ.

St. Thomas came to India to spread God's message after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his tomb is located at the Santhome Basilica in Chennai. Plans were made to make a spectacular film along the lines of 'Benhur' and 'The Ten Commandments' showcasing the life and times of St. Thomas.

It has been confirmed that Ajith and wife Shalini will be part of the project. According to unconfirmed sources, superstar Rajinikanth will be playing the role of legendary Tamil littérateur Thiruvalluvar in the film. The sources also add that Kamal Haasan will play a prominent role and actors Vijay and Vikram will also feature in the film.

Funded by the Government of Canada and the Vatican, the film will be made at a whopping cost in various locations in India and abroad. Shooting is slated to happen in January 2009 and the film will grace movie screens in 2010.

If the unconfirmed sources are to be believed, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will share screen presence after a very long time….well over twenty five years.

The film was recently launched at the Santhome Basilica compound by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

"Kushelan" Release On 1st August

Pyramid Saimira, the worldwide distributors of Rajinikanth’s Kuselan, has postponed the release date of the film to 1 August.

The bilingual film (Tamil and Telugu), which will hit the theatres with 1000 prints worldwide, was earlier slated to release on 25 July. However, the delay occurred due to post production work.

A remake of the Malayalam movie Kadha Parayumpol, the film will be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu as Kuselan and Kathanayukudu respectively.Kuselan, directed by P. Vasu, will feature Rajinikanth in 20 costumes. Pyramid Saimira is expecting the film to take the best-ever opening of 2008.

Another Book About The Superstar

In less than a few months of The Name is Rajinikanth’s release, another book about the superstar is slated to hit the stands soon. This one talks about Rajini’s impressive presence and command over the overseas market. This book analyses the fact and figures and discusses the possible reasons in detail about the phenomenon.

Written by Balachander’s son-in-law, Kandasamy, the book will be released soon as per news sources. It is significant to note that this subject has been largely left untouched so far, and only books about Rajini’s journey in cinema, spirituality, and biography have been released earlier.

Meena And Pasupathi Kept Away

Even though the audio launch of Kuselan was held few days before, the after effects are still felt as the people who did the main characters were kept away from the function.


In the case of Pasupathi, when the story was told to him, it was said that he will be doing 75% of the movie and the remaining will be Rajini's.

When the shooting started, Vadivelu was roped in and keeping Pasupathi near by, the director was saying to Vadivelu "I depend more Rajini and you (Vadivelu) and who cares this guy (Pasupathi) who has no value for himself"

All the stills that are published to the media have only Rajini, Vadivelu and Nayanthara, while the heart of the story deals with Pasupathi and Meena. Even the audio CD has only Nayan and Rajini.

For Pasupathi and Meena, its really a humiliating situation as more worse than this no one can tease them in their living time.

"Ulliyin Osai" special invitees Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, along with 150 special invitees including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan watched ‘Ulliyin Osai’ on Tuesday, a film based on a story the Chief Minister had written four decades ago.

Rajini, when asked about the movie, said, 'Story, screen play and dialogues are super. It is a fantastic love story. Excellent.' Asked if there was any particular dialogue that he liked, he said that there were far too many.

Praising Karunanidhi, Kamal said, 'He had worked on the project despite all his duties as Chief Minister. I have a lot to learn from him.'

This film proves that both Kalaignar's stories and art are timeless, said director Bharathirajaa.

K S Ravikumar, fresh from the success of ‘Dasavatharam’, said there were so many twists and unexpected turns in the movie in the second half and that kept him very interested and absorbed. 'The songs are very good and so is the manner in which they have been filmed. I did not expect such a touching movie,' he said.

The film is based on Karunanidhi's short story 'Saarapallam Samundi'. Produced by Thiruvottiyur SP Murugesan, the film has Keerthi Chawla, Suja, Vineeth and Sarath Babu in lead roles. Ilavenil makes his debut as director while Ilayaraja has handled the music.

Shanker Consultation With A Famous Astrologer

Though predictions come true or not, Tamil Cinema is well known for going by what astrologers predict. An interesting tidbit about the much hyped and highly anticipated film 'Robot' starring superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai seems to be in consultation with a famous astrologer.

Sources have indicated that a top personality involved with the project had taken director Shankar's horoscope to the astrologer in a bid to find out about the film's prospects. The astrologer in turn had wanted to meet Shankar in person before going ahead with the predictions. Shankar had an audience with the astrologer and certain 'revelations' were made.

According to the astrologer, Shankar's 'time' is good at the moment and will continue to be so for a few years. However, with regards to 'Robot', the movie must be made immediately in order to have a dream run worldwide. A delay in its release might even doom the movie to failure.

This information has reportedly rattled the director. One will have to wait and see if the director takes the astrologer's prediction seriously and start filming at once.

It is not know if the astrologer is a fan of the Rajini – Shankar combination and is in haste to see the movie released quickly.

Aishwarya Got Rs 6 Crore in "Robot"

Aishwarya Rai is very much a part of Shankar’s Rajinikanth dream project Robot, being produced by Ayngaran International.

Sources close to the deal said that last week the actress finally signed on the dotted line.

She was reportedly paid a whopping advance amount for the film.

Aishwarya is rumoured to be getting Rs 6 Crore to be the heroine of Robot. This is said to be the highest ever salary paid to an actress for an Indian film.

She has agreed to give bulk dates for the film as and when required.

As per original plans, Shankar was supposed to start the film in the first week of June. Due to various hitches, the shooting of the film will start now only in the last week of August after a low key ‘pooja’ in Chennai.

The dates have now become very convenient for Ash. She had kept the entire month of July and August for the Bachchan’s “Unforgettable World Tour”, a series of shows across continents organised by Wizcraft and starring the Bachchans (Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya) along with a host of stars.

After Aishwarya finishes her world tour, it will be time to start Robot. As of now Shankar is said to be planning to start the shoot with a song to be picturised across the world. So Ash once again goes around the world with the one and only superstar!

Kuselan Audio To Be Launched Today (30 June)

Producers Kavithalaya and Seven Arts Films and Big Music the audio company are going to have a very big audio launch of Rajnikanth's Kusela. The function would take place at a five-star hotel in Chenna on Monday (June 30) evening.

The entire star cast of the film- Rajnikanth, Nayanthara, Meena, Pasupathi and Vadivel are expected to attend the function, along with P.Vasu the director and other technicians. The film's music director G.V Prakash Kumar will be honoured as his uncle the legend A.R Rahman, will be the chief guest of the evening.

Kuselan audio has been grabbed by Big Music, after a bidding war. The grapevine has it that the price paid is a whopping Rs 2.25 crore, the highest ever price paid for an audio in Tamil.

Big Music is opening the audio sales with a record 2 lakhs CD's and Cassettes, priced at Rs 99 and 45 respectively. They have already got an order for 1.15 units from dealers across the world.

The music downloads too have been snapped by UTV, for a never before price. The songs from the film will also be premiered simultaneously across all the FM stations in Tamilnadu and other Tamil stations across the world on Tuesday morning.

There are five songs in the film. "Cinema, Cinema…" written by Vaali and sung by Shankar Mahadevan and chorus is Rajini's introduction song in the film. The song is said to have been picturised to celebrate 75 years of south Indian cinema, with more than a dozen Kollywood stars taking part in it.

The other major highlight is the Daler Mehndi song along with Chitra and Sadhana Sargam, "Om Zaarare…" written by Vaali. It is a seven – minute song where Rajini and Nayanthara appear as Egyptian King and Queen (for a film within a film), and shot lavishly on a studio set done by Thotta Tharani. It has all the potential to be a chartbuster.

If the audio of the film clicks, G.V Prakash the prince in waiting will be anointed as the King of Kollywood. Prakash is in a position to piggy back ride on Rajinikanth's popularity across the globe.

"Kuselan" Audio Releasing On July 1st

Earlier P Vasu announced that Rajini’s Kuselan (telugu Kathanayakudu) audio will released on June 30, now it is changed to July 1 in Chennai by Big Music (Reliance - Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group).

Kuselan audio launch is slated to take place in Le Royal Meridien Hotel. Kuselan’s audio which is composed by the G V Prakash have fetched a new record price of Rs 2.25 crores, even more than what what his uncle A R Rahman’s Sivaji fetched.

A. R. Rahman, one of the greatest Indian film composers ever has begun composing songs for the Rajini big budget film Robot which is directed by Shankar.
