Padmapriya Act Again With Actor-Director Cheran

Actress Padmapriya was introduced to Tamil Cinema with the film 'Thavamai Thavamirunthu' where she paired with actor-director Cheran. Reportedly, Padmapriya is academically well qualified and has always shown interest in stories and even attempts her hand at writing.

Apart from playing heroine in 'Thavamai Thavamirunthu' she also assisted director Cheran while filming.

She then proceeded to act in other movies including 'Mirugam' where an unfortunate tussle ensued with the director of the film forcing her to complain against him.

She is currently working with Cheran again for the film 'Pokkisham' and the movie's shooting is going on in Gobichettipalayam. In this film too she works in two capacities. One as the heroine and the other as assistant director to Cheran.

'I am very happy to be the assistant of director Cheran. He is a very talented director and I am gifted to work with him', says Padmapriya.

She comes to the sets every morning as early as 7 and performs the duties of assistant director religiously.

After 'Pokkisham' she would be pairing with Siddharth for a Hindi film.

Priyamani Act "Pokkisham" With Cheran

Actor - director Cheran had launched a scathing attack on actress Priymani recently.

In an interview to a magazine, Cheran said that she did not deserve the National Award and she had no interest to do quality cinema. Cheran had approached Priyamani to act in his 'Pokkisham' initially and as she declined, he reportedly roped in Padmapriya.

In her retaliation, Priyamani said, ' Cheran did not approach me. One of his assistants sought me to act in 'Pokkisham'. However I was busy with a Telugu and a Malayalam film. Manirathinam's film in Tamil might commence at any moment. Hence I quietly declined Cheran's offer'.

'I am annoyed at his comments on me. It upsets me a lot. I worked hard in 'Paruthiveeran' and Ameer helped me come out with my best. Cheran's comments are unwarranted', she said.

Cheran Next Movies "Pokkisham"

Actor-director Cheran has kicked off his next venture 'Pokkisham' in which he would be acting as well as directing it. Produced by Nemichand Jhabak and V Hitesh Jhabak, the movie features Padmapriya opposite Cheran.

The two come together after a successful outing in 'Thavamai Thavamirundhu'. Hitesh Jhabhak too is a happy man because his earlier production ventures 'Anjathey' and 'Pandi' have turned out to be successful.

'It would be an off-beat film. Designed as a typical Cheran film, it has enough drama and emotional elements in it', say sources close to the director. The movie has musical score by Sabesh Murali and cinematography by Rajesh Yadav.

Cheran's last directorial venture ‘Mayakannadi’ didn't do so well at the box-office. The onus is on Cheran to deliver a hit now. Meanwhile Cheran is playing the lead role in 'Raman Thediya Seethai', directed by Jagan.

The movie also features Nithin Sathya, Pasupathy alongside Cheran and is getting ready for release.

Udhayathara in Next Project "Autograph 2"

Cheran is contemplating to cast Mollywood lass Udhayathara for 'Autograph-2', a sequel to his blockbuster 'Autograph'.

Two characters of 'Autograph' Gopika and Kaniga, will not be a part of the sequel as the former is entering wedlock soon and the latter has already entered it. Looks like Cheran will be finding replacements for the characters and probably, that is how Udhayathara will be fitting into the scheme of things.

Navya Nair has been already cast in the sequel, while Sneha who was part of the original, has also agreed to star in the new version.

'Autograph', which consolidated Cheran as hero, went on to become a stupendous hit. The retro classic swept many awards at several film festivals.

Udhayathara is in the process of rising to fame in Tamil filmdom and has already completed 'Thee Nagar' starring Karan and 'Kannum Kannum' with Prasanna. She has reportedly expressed her delight to be part of 'Autograph 2'.

Once Cheran completes 'Raman Thediya Seethai', he is expected to revisit the story that took him to dizzy heights.
